Battle of the Bands — Genuine Reference Studio

Battle of the Bands for Minerpalooza is a cool new competition put on by The University of Texas at El Paso. Five local bands will be competing for a chance to battle it out at the Minerpalooza stage on Friday, August 27 at the UTEP campus. The five bands competing for the title of “Best Band” are: Coco Butter, Le Voyage, Rivers Ventura, Soul Parade, and Tony Jupiter. The winner of the Battle of the Bands will be announced during Minerpalooza and will win a cash prize along with a whole week of recording studio time at Genuine Reference Studios!

Minerpalooza is the university’s can’t miss back to school bash and features well-known headliners, an athletics pep rally, performances by the cheer and dance teams, an abundance of food truck options, a beer and wine garden, and tons of activities and booths hosted by student organizations. The headliners for this year are Coolio, Petey Pablo, and the Ying Yang Twins!!! Minerpalooza takes place on the first Friday of the fall school semester on August 27, 2021. The event is free and open to the public.

BATTLE OF THE BANDS CONTESTANTS

Each band has recorded a live performance video to showcase their music and have the public vote for them to move on to the next round happening during UTEP’s Texas Western Gold Rush event on Monday, August 23. We are proud to say that the live performance videos were recorded at our very own studio! Our team focused on recording great sound, while the Djen crew focused on capturing amazing visuals. TOP 3 SEMIFINALISTS

Round 2 contestants have been selected based on your votes! Come support your favorite bands as they perform live at Texas Western Gold Rush on Monday, August 23. Voting will be open for 24 hours, starting on Monday, August 23, at 9PM, and ending on Tuesday, August 24, at 9PM. The top 2 bands will move on the finals at Minerpalooza

Battle of the Bands Winner

Rivers Ventura was Minerpalooza’s 2021 Battle of the Bands winner. Rivers Ventura won a week of recording studio time at Genuine Reference Studios along with a cash prize.
